Genetic testing has pointed somewhere else entirely: the lineage appears to run back to Ethiopian landraces. The work isn't fully settled, and nobody has worked out how the variety got to Colombia in the first place.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBuyers who know it tend to compare Chiroso to Gesha for the florals, but describe it as more herbal, with more sweetness and more body. Ariel Urbano grows his at 1,900 meters on La Loma, in La Unión, Nariño, a long way from where the variety was first found. Natural process: the cherry dries whole on the bean, skin and all.
